Nice is known for its famous Promenade des Anglais, but its importance is not only linked to it, as it’s also a city made up of hills. On one of the hills called Saint-Philippe, there is a park overlooking the sea and the whole city, the Estienne-Orves Park.
Located near the Francois Grosso Boulevard, in front of the Baumettes hill, that old property of the resistant Honoré d'Estienne d'Orves’s family, became in 2008 a departmental natural park with its 15 acres of nature. Surrounded by olive trees (including a millenary one), ancient oaks, eucalyptus, pines and Mediterranean vegetation, this park is an heaven of peace where to take refuge, just a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It is an ideal place for jogging on the many paths and it’s a great place too for a family picnic on the areas designated. At the bottom of the park, there are also two gardens for children and an outside space with cardio equipments. So, put your sneakers and come to discover this green lung of Nice !
