Mandatory for the sale of real estate since 1 November 2006, the DPE (Energy Performance Certificate) change from 1 July 2021.
This diagnosis has a double objective:
Notifies the acquirer about the energy performance of an apartment, premises or a house, by assigning 2 labels.
Suggest work recommendations to the purchaser to improve the performance of the property.
The new DPE will now apply to housing offered for sale or for rent. The aim of this reform is to make the energy performance diagnosis more useful, reliable and especially opposable. Indeed, from 1 July 2021, the DPE will have a legal value.
Note that during a transitional period. DPE completed after 2013 can be reused and they remain mandatory in real estate listings of professionals.
